OLRFC Rugby4Heroes 2014 announces record profit figures and donations to Festival charities!

R4H teamThe OLRFC Rugby4Heroes Festival team is delighted to announce that it delivered record 2014 Festival profits for its supported charities – ABF The Soldiers Charity, The Royal British Legion and 353 – and an important supporting fundraising contribution for its long term charity partner, Help for Heroes.

A total Festival profit of £13,558 was generated, comprised of trading net profits of £10,250 from festival income and sponsorship/advertising, and £3,308 of direct charity donations taken over the weekend. Further donations are still due in so this figure will increase further.

This compares with 2013 total Festival net profit and donations to charity of £6,468 , an increase year on year of 110% in funds raised.

The cumulative total now raised over 6 years by OLRFC Rugby4Heroes for Armed Forces charities, is £44,208.

Speaking on behalf of the Festival team , Gaz Nash and Mike Vallance said “this is an outstanding sum of money and we are all very proud of it. This result is down to three things – the outstanding team work and hard graft put in by so many Festival volunteers, the brilliant support of our rugby community, sponsors, advertisers, the Royal Air Force and our trading partners, and the great respect in which the British armed forces are held today. We would like to pay special personal thanks to all of the Festival team who worked so hard to plan and execute on this great event and our heartfelt appreciation is also given to the many partners who helped us stage it. And finally, thank you to the weather gods!”

The trading profit generated of £10,250 will be split between our three nominated benefit charities, with additional smaller donations also to be made to our cadet and scout volunteer groups who put in so much hard work. Watch this space for more news!
