Brooks Macdonald has been appointed as a Premier Sponsor of Rugby4Heroes 2017

The Leamington Spa office of investment management firm Brooks Macdonald is proud to announce its premier sponsorship of the Old Leamingtonians RFC Rugby4Heroes Rugby and Music Festival, taking place at the Old Leamingtonians Rugby Football Club, The Crofts, Bericote Road, Leamington Spa on the weekend of 12-14 May 2017.

Now in its ninth year, the Old Leamingtonians RFC (‘OLRFC’) Rugby4Heroes Rugby and Music Festival is held in the memory of all Warwickshire and West Midlands servicemen and women who fell in Iraq and Afghanistan and in particular, two local soldiers – Private Joe Whittaker 2 Para from Stratford Upon Avon and Private Conrad Lewis 3 Para from Claverdon – both whom were killed in action in Afghanistan. The OLRFC Rugby4Heroes Rugby and Music Festival helps to raise funds for armed forces charities such as ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, The Royal British Legion, Help for Heroes, 353 and the RAF Charitable Trust. To date the OLRFC Rugby4Heroes Rugby and Music Festival has raised £78,000 on behalf of Armed Forces charities, and is hoping to exceed £100,000 with this year’s event.

The new sponsorship adds to the Leamington Spa office’s other sponsorships which include being the official Player Sponsor of Tommy Taylor, a professional rugby union sportsman for Wasps and England.

Mike Divers, Senior Investment Director and Head of Brooks Macdonald’s Leamington Spa office, said:

“We are extremely proud to be the premier sponsor of the OLRFC Help4Heroes Rugby and Music Festival 2017. The festival was a huge success in 2016 and this year offers even more attractions, including tournaments, live music, family entertainment and great street food. Festival visitors will also be able to enjoy flypasts from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight on both days. The festival really has something to offer all age groups.

We have an established history of supporting charities and sport throughout Brooks Macdonald and it is great to be able to support such worthy causes in our local market. As a business we are very proud of our partnership with Rugby4Heroes Rugby and Music Festival, and it also provides us with a wonderful platform to raise awareness of our business in the Midlands.”

For the second time, this year’s festival will include the Rugby4Heroes Elite 7s rugby tournament, in addition to the popular Mens and Ladies Tens rugby, and a much larger mini and junior rugby festival. Hooker Tommy Taylor along with fellow team mates will attend the festival on Sunday 14 May.
