OLRFC Rugby4Heroes does ‘Lights Out’ – 10pm 4th August 2014

OLRFC and Rugby4Heroes will be observing the national Royal British Legion ‘Lights Out’ sunset ceremony, marking the 100th Anniversary of the declaration of the First World War and the entry of British, Irish and Commonwealth volunteers into the War .

The club bar will be open from 8pm and a complimentary BBQ will be served on a first come, first served basis. Just before 10pm everyone will be invited to light a tea light candle in a jam jar and observe this national commemoration event.
At 10pm the club house lights will be extinguished as an act of remembrance and will stay off for one hour, save for a single lit candle, with our candles burning safely outside.
