Street Food teams ready to rock and roll over Rugby4Heroes Festival weekend!

It is our firm intention that no-one, but no-one, leaves our Rugby and Music Festival feeling hungry!

For the first time in the Festival’s history, the OLRFC Rugby4Heroes team are delighted to announce that we have an expanded street food market organised for the 2014 Festival! Working with our great volunteers from all rugby sections at OLRFC, and the members of our local community in Leamington Spa and Warwick, we have a number of new tempting stalls and treats for you!

Jabberwocky serving-pizzaIn our street food market we are delighted to welcome E&P Catering Butchers, Spectacular Goat and The Jabberwocky , who will be supplying an awesome ‘pulled pork’  pig roast and slaw, delicious freshly made pizzas and toasted sandwiches from Friday night to Sunday.

Our very own swerving OLs fly half and master cheffy, Rod Capp, supported by Cawail and the crew from E&P will be knocking out no less than 2 slow roasted pigs on a spit roaster in the street food area of our charity village. This will be served on Saturday afternoon from 5pm…until its gone. This will be cooked ‘low and slow’ and served with our very own, secret recipe slaw – hand made in the early morning by pouting Warwickshire maidens.

John and the team from Spectacular Goat offer a range of freshly made and cooked to order pizzas, with both meat and vegetarian options available!

Barney and Flic from the Jabberwocky make the best toasted sandwiches in Warwickshire, including half a dozen different recipes and an absolute beast of a Manwich called the Juggernaut – a double decked, toasted sandwich containing everything. We can tell you now – there will be a Man v Food competion between two daring rugby teams and we invite entries from team captains to participate. Who needs a boat race when you can eat a Juggernaut?

They will be supported by our firm Festival favourites from Scoopz Ice Cream and Cliff from Volkscafe, serving delicious ice creams, freshly roasted speciality teas/coffees and pastries, and healthy smoothies.

spangles-american-diner logoThere is a special treat in store for young and old alike with the first ever visit of the team from Spangles American Sweet Store in Leamington Spa,  who will be located in our Childrens’ Activity zone, supplying fantastic products to keep your children hyper and up all night, all weekend – guaranteed ! We are delighted Kelly and the team from Spangles can join us. Thank you for their support!

Campervin 1     CamperVin-Out-and-About-10

We are also bubbling over with excitement (excuse the rubbish pun) at the much anticipated attendance by Will and the lovely bar ladies at Campervin, serving wine, cocktails and champagne from his legendary VW camper and running the OLRFC wine and cheese marquee for us! The wine and cheese marquee is something of a legendary piece of OLRFC folk lore and this year we are ramping it up to include cocktails and champagne service too, served by Will and assisted by Lucy and the hostess team from Bar Blondes!

Neil and Sarah at Bakehouse Swan Street in Warwick are supplying freshly baked baguettes and a selection of cheeses for punters to sample in the wine and cheese marquee as they sip a good glass of fine wine and watch the rugby action. Campervin will be serving all weekend from their VW combi van and the wine and cheese marquee will be open Saturday afternoon and evening.

In addition, our hardy crew of OLRFC volunteers will be serving;

– freshly made curries on Friday night from 6pm;

– full English breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings until late;

– the legendary Festival BBQ, with delicious food cooked over both gas and charcoal!

So come and eat, drink and be merry!
